Men’s cross country rounds out JU Short Course Duals
The JU men’s cross country team posted a few good efforts in the JU Short Course Duals to start the 2012 season Friday.

Freshman Nicholas Dale paced the Dolphins by running an 18:08.70 to place 14th. Freshman Andrew Merrill was the next highest finisher in 18:49.20 (20th).

“Nick has established himself as our team leader right away,” JU head coach Ron Grigg said. “I am excited to work with him.”

Junior Esteban Mendez ran a 21:20.60, while freshman James Trebilcock (22:40.90) and sophomore Taylor Fisher (24:12.50) rounded out the rest of the group.

North Florida won the event followed by Savannah State, Bethune-Cookman and JU.

The men’s team will compete again Sept. 28, at the Invitational in Titusville, Fla.
