Men’s golf takes 13th at the Seminole Intercollegiate
Senior Gavin Frost carded the low round of the week for JU, a two-under par 69, as the Dolphins finished 13th at the Seminole Intercollegiate on the par-71 Southwood Golf Course.
Frost’s 69 jumped him 23 spots in the standings, giving him a tie for 21st at five-over par for the event.
Arkansas’ Sebastian Cappelen, Kennesaw State’s Jeff Karlsson and Florida State’s Drew Kittleson tied for the individual title at five-under par. No. 18 Arkansas won the 18-team title at eight-under par.
“Some of our weaknesses got exposed this week and it was an eye opening experience for our guys,” said JU head coach Mike Blackburn. “We’ve got a lot of work to do on the range before we tee it up again at the end of the month.”
Bobby Fredeking carded a two-over par 73 in the final round to tie for 43rd at nine-over par, 222. Jamey Salmon posted a five-over par, 76, to finish in a tie for 64th with teammate Dillon Batsel at 14-over par. Batsel shot a six-over par 77 in the final round.
Trey Douglas carded a 10-over par 81 in the final round to slip into 88th at 21-over par.
The Dolphins are off until the Linger Longer Invitational on March 27.
