NORFOLK, Va. —The Jacksonville University Men’s golf squad returns to action this weekend at
the fourth annual ODU/Outerbanks Golf Invitational, Oct. 20-22 at the
Kilmarlic Golf Course in Powells Point, N.C.
There will be 18 teams competing for the title which include: Bowling
Green, Delaware, Drake, Drexel, Elon, George Mason, George Washington,
Hartford, Hofstra, James Madison, Longwood, Loyola,
Maryland, Marshall, Radford, VCU and host ODU.
Representing the Dolphins this weekend are Brett McKinnon, Ryan Jahn, Prem Samripritcha, Connor Salanger and Colin Monagle. Located about an hour from Norfolk, Va. the course features a par 72, 6535 Yard layout for the tournament. 18 holes each day will be played each day starting on Sunday.
The Dolphins shot 287 in the third round of the Spring Hill Suites Intercollegiate Tournament to finish in eighth place in the only other touornament this season for JU. After three rounds, the team combined for a score of 872 (+8).
McKinnon placed seventh at 5-under-par and led the Dolphins with a 211 (72-69-70). Monagle also had a strong final round posting a team best 68 to finish with a 2-over 218 (74-76-68) for the tournament
