Men's Golf Finishes 7th At Stetson Intercollegiate

DELAND, Fla. - Freshman Duncan Stewart (Moray Shire, Scotland) shot a 2-over-par 146 (74-72) to tie for 10th overall, while fellow freshman Jamie Kennedy (Edinburgh, Scotland) fired a 5-over 149 (73-76) to tie for 18th as JU finished 7th out of nine teams at the Stetson Intercollegiate Tuesday. The Dolphins fired a 602 (300-302) on the par-72, 6,328-yard Southridge course. The tournament was shortened to 36 holes following Monday's rainout.

Freshman Russell Knox (Inverness, Scotland) shot a 151 (76-75) to tie for 25th, while freshman Seiji Hirai (Hagerstown, Mass.) fired a 156 (77-79) for the Dolphins.

Rollins College shot a 575 to win the tournament, followed by Belmont (578), Florida Atlantic (589), Bethune-Cookman (595) and Flagler (596) to round out the top five. Torstein Naevestad of Florida Atlantic shot a 4-under-par 140 (70-70) to earn individual medallist honors.

JU concludes its fall season and begins play in the spring at the UCF Rio Pinar, Feb. 16-17.
