Duncan Stewart ranked 10th in GolfStat poll

March 20, 2007

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Seniors Duncan Stewart and Russell Knox are turning heads nationally as both JU golfers are ranked in the top 40 according to Golfstat.

Stewart moved into the top 10 this week after being ranked 12th the past two weeks. Knox is ranked 38th in the country, a year after finishing in the top 20.

"This is a great honor for them and is very well deserved," said JU head coach Jim Taketa. "They have put together a very solid season thus far, but they still have some bigger goals that they want to reach."

The Dolphins have been red hot this season, picking up the team title in four of the six events they have participated. Stewart has been the ringleader, winning the individual title in two of those events and losing in a playoff in one other.

Knox has kept his rock-steady pace again this season, finishing in the top 20 in all six events with four top 10 finishes.

The Dolphins hit the links again on Friday for the first round of the Furman Invitational.
