JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Russell Knox was named to the Golf Coaches Association of America's All-Southeast region team on Wednesday.
Knox, a recent graduate of JU, wrapped up a stellar collegiate career by being selected to play in the NCAA East Regional as an individual. He finished his final collegiate season with a 71.94 stroke average and set the school record for career stroke average at 72.85.
"This is a tremendous honor for Russell," said JU head coach Jim Taketa. "He has been so consistent the past two seasons, coming out each day and working hard to get better."
Knox finished in the top 20 in every event during his final campaign except for the East Regional, where he tied for 23rd.
He has already set off on his post-collegiate career, earning a spot in the U.S. Open Regional Qualifying Tournament in Jupiter, Fla., teeing off on June 4 for a spot in the U.S. Open.
