LIVE: Men's lacrosse plays at VMI on Saturday
The men’s lacrosse team heads up to Lexington, Va. to face VMI on Saturday at 1 p.m. coming off of the biggest first win in JU history.

The Dolphins (1-2) shocked No. 18 Denver in a 13-12 triple overtime thriller at the Ashley Sports Complex on Sunday afternoon. Until last Sunday, no Dolphin team had ever recorded their first win against a ranked opponent.

Now the Dolphins have their sights set on the Keydets (0-2) and a .500 record.

“It’s going to be interesting to see how the team handles their first road game of the season,” said JU head coach Matt Kerwick. “We’re hoping to take a lot of momentum from the win over Denver and keep things going.”

Freshman attackman Ryan Serville had another impressive game against the Pioneers, scoring six points (3,3). Serville currently leads the team and the country in points (15), is tied for second in goals (10) and is sixth in assists (5). The freshman’s best performance of the year so far was against Bellarmine where he recorded seven points (5,2).

VMI welcomes the Dolphins after an 0-2 start to the season against the military branches of Navy and Army.
