“The team is very excited to go up to Atlanta to play in the Legacy Lacrosse Cup,” said JU head coach Matt Kerwick. “This is a great event for a great cause and we’re excited to play our southernmost rival.”
The Dolphins (5-6) put an end to a three-game losing streak with their 17-10 win over Rutgers. The green and gold battled with the Scarlet Knights throughout the first half but a five-goal run from JU in the third and fourth quarter sealed the deal in front of 849 fans at the Ashley Sports Complex.
Freshman Ryan Serville still leads the team in goals (25) but freshman Nick Scalzo is close behind with 24. Serville is currently eighth in the nation in points (46) and ninth in assists (21) as the Dolphins, as a team, are the 10th most potent offense in the country.
The Blue Hose (1-8) are coming off a loss at No. 9 Duke, 19-8. PC has been led by Tyler Melnyk, who has accounted for a team-high 18 goals and a team-best 25 points. He has registered a .474 shot percentage and an .842 shot on goal percentage, both of which lead the team.
Faceoff is set for 7:30 at Milton High School in Milton, Ga.
