AS A JUNIOR (2011): Appeared in 11 games as a reserve…forced six turnovers and collected 13 ground balls…posted a plus-4 turnover ratio playing as a midfielder…both of his total shots were on goal…logged a season-high two caused-turnovers and a ground ball in 2011 debut versus Robert Morris (3/9)…caused a turnover and added three ground balls versus Siena (4/9)…recorded at least one ground ball in 10 of his 11 games.

AS A SOPHOMORE (2010): Played in all 13 games …the middie scored three goals and fired six shots…collected 17 ground balls…caused 13 turnovers…scored a goal against Denver to help lead Dolphins to first win in program history (2/21)…also added goals against VMI (2/27) and Robert Morris (3/27)…thrice had three ground balls in one game, including Bellarmine (2/13), VMI and Bucknell (3/16)…caused a season-high four turnovers against Bellarmine.

HIGH SCHOOL: Started three years at Mt. Lebanon High School for head coach Kee Joe Song…as a senior, received all-America honors…as a junior, helped lead his team to a WPIAL Championship…as a sophomore, named first-team all-WPIAL.

PERSONAL: Born April 2, 1988 in Pittsburgh, Pa.…full name is Charles Joseph Young…son of Chip and Carol…has three brothers, Brad, Brian and Brenden…is a member of the dean’s list at JU…proposed academic major is business…attended the University of Maryland, where he red-shirted.
