Men’s rowing competes in Governor’s Cup on Saturday
After a full week of Spring Training Camp, the JU men’s rowing team will get to check on its progress by competing in the Governor’s Cup, Saturday on Canal 54 in Fellsmere, Fla.

JU will have three boats competing in four events (Varsity 8, Second Varsity 8, Freshman/Novice 8) as the Dolphins check their progress since last week’s opening competition in the Keuper Cup. The event will be hosted by the Florida Institute of Technology and will also feature men’s crews from Philadelphia and Columbia (who’s Men’s Varsity 8 ranked No. 10 in the nation last year).

The V8 consisting of coxswain Andrew Soloway, Andy Davis, Scott Del Vecchio, Richard Kelly, Greg VanOekel, Brian Cosmillo, Dylan Kosten, Kevin Friedlander and Brad Miller will open things up against Columbia’s Lightweight squad and Philadelphia at 9:24 a.m.

The Second V8 with coxswain Dan Moore, Matt Outlaw, John Gerety, Chris Ottie, Bernard Vingilis, Preston Weinard, Parker Lawler, Brian Tye and Jesse Brantman will go against Columbia’s Lightweight squad and Columbia at 9:48 a.m.

The F/N8 made up of coxswain Ben Hayes, Marin Leininger, Jarod Law, Sean Carney, Shane Kennedy, Troy Troupe, Ricky Banach, Joaquin Black and Andrew Manchester will face Columbia and Columbia’s Lightweight squad at 10:12 a.m.

The V8 will complete the day with a head-to-head matchup against Columbia at 12:12 p.m.
