PHILADELPHIA - The JU rowing teams finished up the 2003 season Friday at the Dad Vail Regatta on the 2,000-meter course on the Schuylkill River.

The men's varsity 8+ finished second with a time of 6:16.5 to finish behind Temple (6:11.7), which advanced to the semifinals, and ahead of San Diego (6:18.8), Iona and Lowell. In the repechage, in which the top three teams overall in the four races advance to the semifinals, JU clocked a 6:06.5 to finish behind Boston College (6:01.9), Lehigh (6:04.5) and Rollins (6:04.7).

In its only race, the women's varsity 8+ posted a time of 7:16.4 to finish sixth, while Lehigh won the race with a time of 6:56.4.

The Dolphins wrapped up a strong year, which saw them win six titles at the Florida Intercollegiate Rowing Association Championships - the men's varsity 8+, the men's varsity 4+, the men's junior varsity 4+, the women's junior varsity 4+ and both men's and women's pairs.
