2008: As a sophomore, he sat in the six seat with the Varsity 8 and took home gold at FIRA’s…also earned a gold medal at FIRA’s in the Men’s Pair…helped V8 to a bronze medal at SIRA’s and a fourth-place finish in the Richard O’Brien Grand Final at the Dad Vail Regatta…in the fall, he earned gold medals with the Lightweight 8 and Lightweight 4 at the Head of the South…also earned silver medals with the LW8 and LW4 at the Head of the Hooch…was a lso a member of the JU men’s cross country team...named to the Dean’s List...earned academic all-conference honors.
2007: As a freshman, he sat in the six seat with the Lightweight 8 which took home gold medals at the Rollins Invitational, Petrakis Cup and FIRA’s…also took home bronze at SIRA’s and placed fourth at the Dad Vail Regatta…in the fall, he helped the Lightweight 8 earn gold medals at the Head of the Hooch and the Head of the South.
HS: Three-year letterwinner at Great Bridge High School...as a junior member of the lightweight eight, he was first in the region, second in the state and fifth in the country...as as sophomore, he helped the varsity eight to a regional title and the lightweight eight to a second-place finish in the state...as a freshman, led the novice four to a region and state championship...member of the Great Bridge Crew Club.
Personal: Born July 13, 1988, in Norfolk, Va...son of Rich Humphrey and Susan Connolly...has a brother, Lucas...major is physical education and exercise science…currently the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee representative for men’s rowing at JU.
