In addition to his duties at JU, he was recently named the women’s soccer head coach at the new Atlantic Coast High School after serving in the same capacity at Fletcher High School in Jacksonville Beach. He is also the U-14 boy’s head coach at the Jaguar Soccer Club. In 2009, Mukasa helped Fletcher finish with a 17-1-3 record, while the defense only surrendered four goals all season. His U-18 boy’s team at the Jaguar Soccer Club was ranked as high as 11th in the state after finishing second in the Florida State Soccer League 2nd division. They were also finalists in the 2009 Bazooka soccer classic tournament and the Kyx Labor Day shootout tournament. In 2008, Mukasa helped the Dolphins to their second consecutive conference title after they rallied twice to win the conference championship and earn an automatic bid into the NCAA Tournament. The Dolphins finished the year with a 12-9-1 overall record, their second straight double-digit wins season. JU also recorded a 7-2 tally in A-Sun play to finished second in the league. Following his season with the Dolphins, Mukasa guided Fletcher to a Gateway Conference and District Championship as well as spot in the regional finals during the 2009 season. He also led his club team to a second place finish at the 2009 BSI Bazooka Soccer Tournament. The 2007 season was a banner year for Mukasa as coach. Not only did he help the Dolphins to the A-Sun regular title, but he also guided Paxon to a Gateway Conference Championship and his Jags U-19 team was the 2007 Space coast Memorial Day champions as well as a regional runner up. A four-year letter winner at North Florida from 1998-1999 and 2001-2002, Mukasa has coached soccer camps at JU, UNF and Florida. He also holds a USSF National “D” License. Mukasa, who was born in Kampala, Uganda, earned his bachelor's degree in communications at North Florida in 2003. |
