Men’s soccer faces College of Charleston on Thursday
The JU men’s soccer team will take its traveling road show back to South Carolina as the Dolphins College of Charleston on Thursday at 7:30 p.m. for the Saturn of Charleston/Nike Classic.

The Dolphins (3-4-0) wrap up the weekend on Saturday against Alabama A&M at 12:30 p.m. This is the last set of non-conference matches before JU heads into the Atlantic Sun play next weekend.

“This is our last non-conference weekend,” said JU head coach Mike Johnson. “We played really well last Sunday and have had good weeks of preparation for this. College of Charleston was in the top 25 last week , while Alabama A&M has been tough lately as well. It’s a tough ending to a long road but we feel confident that we can be successful.”

The Dolphins are 2-1 at the halfway point of their seven-match road trip. JU opened the trip with a 3-0 win over Presbyterian on Sept. 12 in the adidas Gamecock Classic, but fell to the host South Carolina, 2-0, a day later. The Dolphins got back in the win column on Sept. 21 with a 2-0 victory at Georgia Southern.

Sophomore forward Wesley Lartey leads the team in scoring with three goals of the bench for the Dolphins. Senior goalkeeper Joey Sanchez has the hot hand between the posts after securing the last two shutout wins for JU.

The Cougars (4-3) head into the classic looking to bounce back from a 4-0 loss to South Carolina on Sept. 19, while the Bulldogs (4-3-1) play Stetson on Thursday before taking on the Dolphins.
