Senior midfielder Stefan Runeman scored two goals against College of Charleston to earn A-Sun Offensive "Player of the Week" honors.
Senior midfielder Stefan Runeman was named Atlantic Sun Offensive “Player of the Week” after scoring two second half goals to help the JU men’s soccer team compete a 5-3 comeback victory over No. 26 College of Charleston on Sept. 27 in the JU/Nike Invitational.

“I’m glad Stefan got this honor,” said JU head coach Mike Johnson. “I know he has been frustrated offensively, but I was happy to see him break out of it on Sunday. He is a big piece to what we are doing so I’m confident he will be producing more games like the one yesterday as we hit the conference schedule.”

Less than five minutes into the second half, Runeman was awarded a penalty kick attempt after being dragged down in the box by a Cougars defender. The Swedish native slipped the shot successfully into the right side of the net to tie the match.

Runeman added the game-winning score in the 85th minute when he caught a pass in the air from junior midfielder Nedim Hrustic and knotted the ball into the right side of the goal.

The Dolphins open the Atlantic Sun schedule on Friday at home against Stetson. Kickoff is set for 8 p.m.
