JU Places Three On All-South Teams

Jacksonville, Fla. - Jacksonville University placed three men's soccer players on the 1999 NSCAA/Adidas All-South Soccer team announced yesterday. Junior goalkeeper Petar Popovic and sophomore Bole Acimovic were second-team selections, while senior Mladen Dikic was selected to the third team.

Acimovic led the Trans America Athletic Conference in goals with 17, while Dikic, an All-TAAC 1st Team selection, finished fourth in goals (13) and points (30). Acimovic's season high of four goals came against rival Stetson in a key overtime victory in the Dolphins' drive to the regular season TAAC title.

Popovic, who joined Acimovic and Dikic as a All-TAAC 1st Team selection in 1999, earned All-Tournament Honors at the Richmond Nike Cup, TAAC Player-of-the-Week honors, and National Team-of-the-Week honors during the 1999 season. Acimovic and Dikic were also a Player-of-the-Week selections for the TAAC, Acimovic earning the honor in consecutive weeks late in the year, while Dikic picked up the honor early in the season.
