Men Picked to Finish Fourth in TAAC

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - The JU women's soccer team was voted to finish second in the Trans America Athletic Conference this season, while the men were picked to finish fourth as voted on by TAAC head coaches in the 2000 preseason polls released today.
While receiving one first place vote, the JU women were picked to finish in second place behind UCF, who defeated the Dolphins the past two seasons in the TAAC Championship match. The women finished the 1999 season 12-8-0 overall, 7-2-0 in TAAC play.
After capturing their third straight regular-season conference championship last season, the JU men were voted to finish fourth, along with the Georgia State. The Dolphins finished 1999 12-5-1 overall, 5-1-0 TAAC) and finished 10th in the final NSCAA South Region Poll.
The JU women open the regular season on Friday, Aug. 25 against McNeese St. at 6 p.m. at the FAU Kickoff Classic in Boca Raton. The men host Saint Leo in an exhibition match on Thursday, August 24.
