Senior forward Mladen Dikic (Lovran, Croatia) scored the game-winning goal in overtime to lead the Jacksonville University men's soccer team past the DePaul Blue Demons, 3-2, in the JU/Nike Legends-Dennis Viollet Memorial Classic Saturday afternoon at the Ashley Sports Complex.

Dikic's goal, assisted by a touch pass from Michael Blackburn (Arlington, Texas), came at 101:36 in the match to give the Dolphins their first win of the season. JU is now 1-3 on the season and DePaul drops to 0-5.

After being down 2-0 early, JU would get on the board at 33:01, as freshman Hamdy Bonin (Lower Caldecote, England) stole a Blue Demon pass and beat goalkeeper Jash Chavero in a one-on-one match-up. Blackburn then tied the match at 2, with 11:35 left to play in the second half, with a shot off of a thrown in from Brett Surrency (Gainesville, Fla.).

DePaul's Chris Greer opened the scoring at 21:28 of the match, followed by teammate Shane Hudson at the 31:34 mark.

Senior goalkeeper Petar Popovic (Belgrade, Yugoslavia) had 10 saves for the Dolphins.

In the tournament's opening match, Florida Atlantic defeated Central Connecticut State, 2-0. FAU's Pablo Luna and Jeff Chandler each scored in the match.

The Dolphins return to action Sunday, Sept. 17 in the conclusion of the JU/Nike Legends-Dennis Viollet Memorial Classic as they take on Central Connecticut State at 2 p.m. FAU will face DePaul at noon.
