TAMPA, Fla. - JU Freshman midfielder Dia Hunte (Harriman Park, Trinidad Tobago) scored a goal in the 34th minute of his collegiate debut, but it wasn't enough as South Florida defender Rustin Kluge scored late in the match to help the Bulls past the Dolphins, 2-1, Friday night in an exhibition soccer match in Tampa.

Hunte's goal, assisted by sophomore midfielder Sean Steed (Kissimmee, Fla.), put JU ahead 1-0 early in the contest, but South Florida defender Joe Valencia answered Hunte's goal, with the equalizer in the final minute of the first half on a pass from midfielder Gabriel Salgado to send the teams into the half tied 1-1.

After even play throughout most of the second half, Bull defender Justin Norton assisted on Kluge's goal in the 77th minute of the match to give USF the 2-1 advantage.

JU first year Coach Bob Moullin was pleased with his young squad's performance saying, "It was an encouraging first match for us." Moullin faces a challenge this season as his team has little college game experience, featuring just two seniors, four juniors and nine freshmen. However, Moullin is optimistic about the season. "The guys showed a good base for the future."
