CONWAY, S.C.-After being delayed for a week, the JU men's soccer team opened its regular season with a 2-1 win over Coastal Carolina (0-3), Friday evening in the first round of the CCU Option One/ Adidas Invitational. The Dolphins (1-0) got goals from freshman forward Dia Hunte (Harriman Park, Trindad Tobago) and sophomore forward Hamdy Bonin(Lower Caldecote, England) in the victory.

The Dolphins struck first in the 39th minute of the match as Hunte scored his first goal of the season on a penalty kick after being fouled in the 18-yard box to put JU up 1-0. The Dolphins stretched the lead to 2-0, as Bonin scored from 16 yards out after taking a pass from senior defender Haefen Donaldson (Jacksonville, Fla.).

Coastal Carolina's J.R. Casadonte scored the Chanticleers only goal in the 83rd minute, cutting the Dolphin lead to 2-1. JU was then able to hold off a late Chant charge to pull out the victory.

The Dolphins will face Charleston Southern, who defeated Campbell, 2-1, in the first round of the tournament, in the championship game, today at 5 p.m.
