JU sophomore forward Hamdy Bonin (Lower Caldecote, England) scored the only goal of the match in the 81st minute to break a scoreless tie and give the Dolphins a 1-0 victory over Charleston Southern as JU claimed first place at the CCU Option One/Adidas Invitational Saturday evening.

Bonin scored the match-winner after receiving a give-and-go pass from sophomore midfielder Sean Steed (Kissimmee, Fla.). The Dolphins dominated play for most of the match. The defense shut down Charleston Southern's attack and the offense took command of the match as JU outshot the Buccaneers 15-6.

The Dolphins captured first place, winning a pair of matches in the tournament, followed by Coastal Carolina and Charleston Southern, who split each of their matches and Campbell, who dropped both matches.

The Dolphins return to action on Saturday, September 15, when they host Longwood College at 5 p.m. at Ashley Sports Complex.
