JU sophomore forward Hamdy Bonin (Lower Caldecote, England) scored a hat trick and added an assist, while sophomore defender Brett Surrency (Gainesville, Fla.) and freshman forward Carlos Serrano (Orange Park, Fla.) chipped in with two goals each as the Dolphins (7-4-1) crushed Lipscomb University (2-13), 8-0, Saturday afternoon in non-conference action. The eight-goal separation was the largest margin of victory for JU since 1995 and the Dolphins' highest point output in a single match since 1979.

The Dolphins struck early and often, dominating the Bisons from kickoff. Surrency gave JU an early 1-0 lead in just the fifth minute of the match when he took a pass from Bonin to score his second goal of the year. Bonin increased the lead to 2-0 when he found himself on the receiving end of a pass from Serrano for the score in the 19th minute. Sophomore midfielder Sean Steed (Kissimmee, Fla.) joined the scoring barrage in the 23rd minute, to give JU a 3-0 halftime edge.

The Dolphins continued the onslaught, scoring twice in the first four minutes of the second half on goals by Serrano and Surrency for a commanding 5-0 lead. Bonin then scored back-to-back goals in the 57th and 60th minutes, on an assist from sophomre forward Hans Guiscerdo (Montevideo, Uraguay) and an unassisted score, to extend the lead to 7-0. Serrano wrapped the scoring up at 8-0 in the 83rd minute on his second goal.

JU junior goalie Mike Miller (New Brunswick, N.J.) collected four saves in his fourth shutout of the season, as the Dolphins outshot Lipscomb 22-6 in the match, including a 7-1 advantage on corner kicks.

JU will face Alabama A&M in its next match, on Sunday, Nov. 4, in a non-conference match in Huntsville, Ala., at 1 p.m.
