JU Men's Soccer Sweeps A-Sun Weekly Honors

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Jacksonville University's Hamdy Bonin and Mike Miller were named the Atlantic Sun Men's Soccer Players-of-the-Week by the league office on Monday afternoon. The Dolphins swept the honor with a convincing 8-0 shutout of Lipscomb University and a tough 1-0 loss to regionally ranked Alabama A&M.

Jacksonville's sophomore forward Hamdy Bonin recorded his first career hat trick with three goals and an assist in the 8-0 victory over Lipscomb to earn his first Atlantic Sun Offensive Player of the Week honor. Bonin, a native of Lower Calecote, England, leads the league in goals per game (1.00) and points per game (2.09).

Jacksonville's Mike Miller, in his first season starting in goal for the Dolphins, earned Atlantic Sun Defensive Player of the week honors for the second time this season. Miller led the Dolphins to a 1-1 week, while posting his fourth shutout of the season in the 8-0 win over Lipscomb. Against regionally-ranked Alabama A&M, Miller allowed just one goal while recording six saves. Miller tallied 10 saves in two games on the week, lowering his goals against average to 1.35.

Jacksonville has already secured the #3 seed in the upcoming A-Sun tournament, which will be held on November 16-17 in Macon, Georgia.
