JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - The Jacksonville University men's soccer team fell to South Florida, 1-0, in overtime Tuesday afternoon at the Ashley Sports Complex on the JU campus. Gabriel Salgado scored the game-winning goal for the Bulls (3-0-0) in the 91st minute.

Salgado took a feed from Jeff Thwaites near the right end line and sent a sharp shot inside the left post past Dolphins goalkeeper Greg Williams (Hopewell, N.Y.) to end the game in the first overtime. Williams recorded five saves in the game, all in the second half.

In the second half, Williams stopped a penalty kick from Thwaites in the 67th minute after he was taken down in the box by Dolphins defender Steve Command (Brighton, Mich.) to preserve the scoreless tie. Sophomore Carlos Serrano (Jacksonville, Fla.) had the Dolphins best chance to end the game in regulation. Serrano took a cross from the left side and attempted a bicycle kick, but just missed wide right in the 87th minute.

The Dolphins (1-2-0) travel to Spartanburg, S.C., on Friday to take on the Wofford Terriers at Snyder Field at 5 p.m.
