SPARTANBURG, S.C. - The Jacksonville University men's soccer team defeated Wofford College, 3-1, Friday night at Snyder Field. Junior captain Brett Surrency (Gainesville, Fla.) and senior Steve Command (Brighton, Mich.) both scored goals in the first half to lead the Dolphins.

The Dolphins took the lead very early and never looked back. Surrency scored in the third minute of the game off a corner kick from sophomore Richard Blackburn (Jacksonville, Fla.) to give the Dolphins the 1-0 advantage. Command made it 2-0 Dolphins scoring an unassisted goal in the 22nd minute 25 yards outside the box. JU would take a 3-0 lead into halftime as a corner kick led to an own goal, deflecting off a Wofford defender, in the 29th minute.

The Terriers (1-3-0) got on the board in the 53rd minute as Chris Findley scored off a feed from Sam Moore. JU goalkeeper Greg Williams (Hopewell, N.Y.) played solid all game, making five saves.

The Dolphins (2-2-0) travel to Rock Hill, S.C., on Sunday to take on the Winthrop Eagles at Eagle Field at 1 p.m.
