Soccer's Greg Williams Named A-Sun Defensive Player of the Week

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Jacksonville University junior goalkeeper Greg Williams was named Atlantic Sun Defensive Player of the Week, the conference office announced on Monday. The Hopewell, N.Y., native led the Dolphins to two victories this past week, including a 1-0 shutout over UCF in their A-Sun opener. Williams has been stellar in goal all year for the Dolphins, who have won three consecutive games and remain unbeaten in their last five.

Williams recorded five saves in JU's 5-2 victory over Georgia Southern, while recording his first career assist. In the UCF match, Williams made three saves in recording his third shutout of the season, lowering his goals against average to a league-best 0.89.

The Dolphins (5-2-1) travel to Deland, Fla., on Wednesday, to take on the Stetson Hatters at the Stetson Soccer Complex at 4 p.m.
