MACON, Ga. - The Jacksonville University men's soccer team fell to Atlantic Sun leader Mercer, 3-1, in A-Sun action Sunday night at Bear Field. Sophomore Richard Blackburn (Jacksonville, Fla.) scored the Dolphins' lone goal, his fourth in as many games. The Dolphins fall to 7-5-2 overall, 3-2-1 in the A-Sun.

The Dolphins cut the Bears' 2-0 lead in half in the 56th minute as Blackburn was the beneficiary of consecutive one-touch passes from junior Brett Surrency (Gainesville, Fla.) and sophomore Ryan Potts (Winter Park, Fla.), beating Mercer keeper Jonathan Riley to make it 2-1. But JU was unable to get any closer and Mark Donnelly capped off the scoring for the Bears in the 75th minute giving them a two-goal lead. The Dolphins had numerous chances in the second half as they attempted 11 corner kicks to the Bears' one, but were unable to capitalize on any opportunity.

Mercer jumped out to the early lead as Del Olaoye scored in the 38th minute giving the Bears the 1-0 advantage. Ramiro Canovas made it 2-0 Bears at the half, scoring in the 44th minute.

The Dolphins return to action this coming weekend as they travel to Nashville, Tenn., taking on Belmont on Saturday, Oct. 26, at 2 p.m. and facing Lipscomb on Sunday at 1 p.m.
