TAMPA, Fla. - Sophomore Brett Surrency (Gainesville, Fla.) scored on the first shot of the game, before USF midfielder Drew Helm evened the score with a goal of his own in the first half as the JU men's soccer team played to a 1-1 double-overtime tie against the Bulls on Sunday evening at Tampa. Senior goalkeeper Greg Williams (Hopewell, N.Y.) played all 110 minutes in goal and collected six saves for JU (0-1-1).

The Dolphins got on the board early as Surrency scored unassisted on his only shot attempt of the game in the fifth minute. USF (1-0-1) tied it up at the 14-minute mark when Helm put the ball away for a score in the far left corner. Neither team would score the rest of the way as the Bulls out shot the Dolphins 18-8 and held a 5-3 advantage in corner kicks. USF goalkeeper Peter Lechak made three saves and played the entire game in goal.

The Dolphins return to action when they host Wofford in the JU/Best Western Shootout on Friday, Sept. 5 at 5:00 p.m at the Ashley Sports Complex.
