JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Junior forward Ryan Potts (Winter Park, Fla.) scored the lone goal for JU, while senior goalkeeper Greg Williams (Hopewell, N.Y.) made six saves, but Ben Ragan of Mercer (7-7, 5-2 A-Sun) added a late second-half goal to edge the Dolphins, 2-1, on Senior Day in A-Sun men's soccer action at the Ashley Sports Complex. JU falls to 3-10-3, 2-5-1 in the A-Sun.

Mercer got on the board in the 51st minute when forward Ramiro Canovas took a pass from midfielder David Gussio and scored from 15 yards out. Potts tied the match six minutes later as he received a ball from freshman midfielder Tyler Stansberry (McAllen, Texas) and netted a goal from 10 yards out on the left side.

The Bears had a great opportunity to score in the 63rd minute when defender James Jordan attempted a penalty kick, but was denied by Williams as he made a spectacular save on the play. Ragan then scored the game-winner from five yards out in the 83rd minute.

Jonathan Riley played the entire match in goal for Mercer, making one save.

The Dolphins return to action when they play at Stetson in their regular season finale on Saturday, Nov. 1 at 1:00 p.m.
