Men's Soccer Takes 3-0 Win Over Lipscomb

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - A trio of goals in the first 30 minutes along with stellar defensive play propelled the Dolphin men's soccer team to a 3-0 victory over Lipscomb Thursday afternoon at the Ashley Sports Complex. Sophomore forward Tommy Krizanovic (Jacksonville/Englewood) scored his Atlantic Sun-leading ninth goal, while senior forward Richard Blackburn (Orange Park, Fla.) tallied his fifth assist of the year, which also leads the league.
Jacksonville (6-5, 2-2 A-Sun) started the scoring early, as redshirt freshman Kevin Hole (Jacksonville/Wolfson) made a shot off of Blackburn's cross in the eighth minute to give JU the 1-0 lead. Krizanovic followed in the 19th minute with his score, getting an assist from senior defender Nick Comerford (Gainesville, Fla.). Sophomore midfielder Tyler Stansberry (McAllen, Texas) capped the scoring 10 minutes later, beating a Bison defender and shooting the ball past LU keeper Jake Georgen.
The Dolphin defense held Lipscomb (0-12, 0-4 A-Sun) to three shots on the day, with only one coming on goal. JU outshot the Bisons, 17-3, while Lipscomb held the advantage in corner kick, 5-4.
JU faces Belmont at 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 16 at the Ashley Sports Complex during homecoming on the Jacksonville University campus.
