Men's Soccer Gets 1-0 Victory at Mercer

MACON, Ga. - Sophomore forward Tommy Krizanovic (Jacksonville/Englewood) scored his Atlantic Sun-leading 10th goal of the season while senior goalkeeper Greg Williams (Hopewell, N.Y.) earned his first shutout of 2004 to lead the Jacksonville University men's soccer team to a 1-0 win at Mercer Friday evening at Bear Field. The Dolphins move to 7-5-1, 3-2-1 in the A-Sun, while Mercer drops to 7-6, 4-2 in conference play.

Krizanovic's gamewinner came in the 26th minute, with sophomore midfielder Brett Wagner (Tampa, Fla.) picking up an assist on the play, his second of the season.

The Bears outshot JU, 16-11, and held a 7-2 advantage in corner kicks. Williams grabbed seven saves for his first shutout of the season and eighth of his career, moving him into a tie for third place on JU's career shutout list. The win also moved Williams into a tie for fifth all-time at JU.

The Dolphins head to Atlanta to face Georgia State Sunday, Oct. 24 at 1 p.m. at the Panthersville Soccer Complex.
