Men's soccer falls to #23 Davidson, 3-0

ORLANDO, Fla.- - The #23 Davidson College Wildcats scored two second-half goals to pull past the Jacksonville University men's soccer team, 3-0, Sunday morning at the UCF/adidas Classic in Orlando, Fla.

Tom Lavan scored a goal from on the right side for the Wildcats (5-1-1) at the 25-minute mark in the first half to gain the 1-0 lead. Randy Hoak added a goal to extend the Wildcats advantage around the 27-minute frame in the second half.

The Dolphins (3-3-0) best chance to score was at 25th-minute in the second half. Senior Brian Blackburn fed the ball to junior Tommy Krizanovic on a cross, but he was unable to knock it in the goal.

Lavan scored again for the Wildcats with less than seven minutes remaining to quash the Dolphins hopes of battling back.

Freshman Akeem Preistley led the Dolphins with three shots on the day.

The Dolphins travel to the west coast to compete against Gonzaga in the Gonzaga Invitational on Friday at 7 p.m.
