Men's soccer prepares to make sweet music in Nashville this weekend

JACKSONVILLE, Fla.- - The Jacksonville men's soccer team travels to Nashville this weekend to play in two important Atlantic Sun matches, which will go a long way in determining if the team advances to the conference tournament.

Tomorrow the Dolphins (5-8-1, 1-3-1 A-Sun) square off against Belmont at 7:30 p.m. They wrap up their road trip by playing Lipscomb on Saturday at 1 p.m..

Currently the Dolphins sit in the coveted sixth and final spot in the A-Sun standings that would propel them into the conference tournament. Campbell, Florida Atlantic, Mercer and Stetson have already secured a bid to the postseason tournament. The Dolphins are battling Belmont (5-7-1, 2-3-1 A-Sun), Lipscomb (4-8-1, 1-5-0 A-Sun) and Gardner-Webb (7-7-2, 1-6-0 A-Sun) for the final top spots into the tournament with three games left to play.

"Our guys are really focused and prepared for this weekend," said head coach Mike Johnson. "Hopefully we will take care of business and officially secure our spot in the A-Sun tournament."

The Dolphins come into tomorrow's game after a hard fought 1-1 tie against Mercer on Sunday night at the Ashley Sports Complex. Junior Tommy Krizanovic scored his team-leading 13th goal on Sunday which tied his total from last season.
