Men's soccer downs Belmont in overtime, 2-1

NASHVILLE, Tenn.- - Freshman Akeem Priestley scored a goal in overtime to pull the Jacksonville men's soccer team past Belmont, 2-1, Thursday night in an Atlantic Sun match up at Nashville, Tenn. The victory helps the Dolphins (6-8-1, 2-3-1 A-Sun) clinch a spot in the A-Sun Conference Tournament held in Macon, Ga. starting on Nov. 10.

Priestley scored an unassisted goal with less than a minute remaining to give the Dolphins the victory.

The Dolphins grabbed the initial lead at the 23rd-mintue mark in the first half when sophomore Brian Cocciolo scored his second goal of the season off a rebound from the goalkeeper.

Eric Susewind tied the game for Belmont (5-8-1, 2-4-0 A-Sun) less than five minutes into the second half on a header inside the box.

The Dolphins wrap their Nashville road trip on Saturday against Lipscomb at 1 p.m. in A-Sun action.
