JACKSONVILLE, Fla.- - Freshman Akeem Priestley was named Atlantic Sun Conference "Offensive Player of the Week" as announced by the conference Monday.

On Thursday, Priestly scored the game-winning goal in overtime to propel the Dolphins past Belmont, 2-1. The win helped the Dolphins secure a berth into the A-Sun conference tournament.

He followed that with his 10th goal of the season in the Dolphins' 3-2 loss to Lipscomb on Saturday.

Priestley ranks second on the team and ranks fifth in the conference with 10 goals. Priestley has scored a goal in five of the last six games and has three multi-goal games this year.

"I'm proud of the effort Akeem has been giving this last couple of weeks," said head coach Mike Johnson. "He has showed us the type of player he can be by coming through for us in a few crucial situations. This award is well-deserved."

The Dolphins returns to action tomorrow in Spartanburg, S.C. against Wofford at 6 p.m.
