Ben Birkmann Earns A-Sun Tennis Accolades

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - JU freshman Ben Birkmann (Bremen, Germany) was named to the Atlantic Sun Men's Tennis All-Conference Honorable Mention team as well as the All-Freshman team as announced by the conference office on Friday.

Birkmann enjoyed a solid freshman campaign for the Dolphins, posting a 16-15 record in singles play at the No. 1 position. He showed his versatility, compiling a 19-7 doubles record, including a stellar 17-3 mark with Christoph Mueller (Waldsassen, Germany), highlighted by an 11-match winning streak to end the season.

JU advanced to the quarterfinals of the 2002 A-Sun Championship tournament before finishing the season with a 13-12 record.
