We misjudged both of our opponents (Kennesaw State and Mercer) and ended up losing both games in four sets. In both situations we came out strong and ended up winning the first set. However, after the first win, we became a little content and did not push as hard as our opponents. This came back to hurt us in the end, because we lost the next three games in both matches. We tried to switch things around by changing the rotation and by putting in different hitters, but we could not seem to push through for a victory.
These were very tough loses for us because it may affect us in the long run as we make our way towards conference seeding. After a loss like this, a team can do two things: get back in the gym and get better the next week or dwell on the loss. We are not going to dwell on our mistakes. We are going to get back in the gym and work harder this week in practice to improve and come out stronger next week.
Our goal is to improve every week, and this past week we hit a bump. So this week in practice, we are going to make up for that loss. Our journey will continue at home as we play ETSU and USC Upstate and use our hard work to achieve a victory.
