Men's soccer ties Coastal Carolina 1-1 at the Diadora/Spinx Furman Invitational

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - The JU men's soccer team tied Coastal Carolina at the Stone SoccerStadium 1-1 in the Diadora/Spinx Furman Invitational, going into double-overtime for their second consecutive game.

Junior midfielder Ramak Niakan safi was again on the score sheet, this time firing home in the 29th minute from seven yards after he displayed some fancy footwork.

Freshman forward Kelly Porter had given the Chanticleers the lead in the 10th minute after he received a long ball from freshman midfielder Matt Schroeder.

Freshman goalkeeper Matt Gilman keeps up his impressive form for the Dolphins, allowing only one goal in 110 minutes of play.

The Dolphins (1-1-1) will be in action again on Sunday against hosts Furman at 1 p.m.
