JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Jacksonville's Jordi Ballester has be selected as the Atlantic Sun Player of the Week, league officials announced today, after leading the Dolphins with a 2-0 singles record.

The Elche, Spain native continues to help JU climb in the A-Sun standing after picking up singles wins against Campbell and Hampton. Against the Fighting Camels, Ballester defeated Gabriel Delarue 6-2, 7-5. Ballester also won his singles match against Hampton's Seo-Jae Chang (6-1, 6-2). Both wins came at the No. 1 spot.

Ballester also competed in doubles action, going 1-1 during the week.

The award is the first of its kind for the exercise science major. It is also the first time in nearly two years that a Jacksonville student-athlete has been selected as the POTW. The last JU student-athlete to be honored as such was Bjoern Behles on April 12, 2005.
