Men's Tennis garners three Atlantic Sun all-conference awards

Sophomore Jordi Ballester was named first team all-conference while Ernesto Ramos and Victor Vaz were each named to the all-freshman squad as released by the Atlantic Sun Conference office Thursday.

Ballester, who transferred from Fresno State last season, heads into the conference tournament with a 15-4 record at No. 1 singles and has posted a 6-2 mark in conference play. On March 6, he became the first Dolphin since 2005 to be named A-Sun "Player of the Week".

Ramos and Vaz each earned their first conference awards after combining for a 26-11 record and a 10-6 mark in conference play during regular season. Ramos went 14-3 at No. 4 singles and 1-0 at No. 3 singles while also going 5-3 in conference play. Vaz went 11-7 at the No. 3 singles position and also went 5-3 in conference play.

"This is a great honor for these player and a reward for the great seasons they had," said JU head coach Jarod Camerota. "We will look for them to continue their strong play as we head into the A-Sun Tournament this weekend."
