NASHVILLE, Tenn. - JU (2-10, 0-5 A-Sun) junior forward Yolisha Jackson (Clarksville, Tenn.) rebounded from her most trying performance of the season with 13 points and a career-high 15 rebounds for her fourth double-double of the season, while sophomore guard Sheena Carpenter (Augusta, Ga.) had 12 points and six rebounds, but it wasn't enough as the Lipscomb Lady Bisons (5-7, 2-2 A-Sun) outshot JU 48 percent to 37 percent for a 76-63 win Saturday at Allen Arena.
Montz hit a three-pointer from the corner at 14:00 to cut Lipscomb's lead to 49-43, but the Lady Bison defense responded by limiting JU to just two points over 7:00 to pull ahead, 60-45 at 7:71. JU hit its first two shots in the opening minute to take a 4-2 lead, but Lipscomb responded with eight points from Katie Beth Pate and Monica Blake to pull ahead 8-6 at 15:37. The Lady Bisons extended their lead to 20-16 before embarking on an 8-0 run, holding JU scoreless for 3:20 to lead 28-16 at the 5:58 mark.
