JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Jacksonville University has hired former Auburn star Nitasha Brown as a graduate assistant women's basketball coach, head coach Jill Dunn announced on Wednesday.

In four years with the Tigers, Brown was named team captain and co-MVP after averaging 11 points, 2.6 rebounds and 3.8 assists while shooting 35.2 percent (50-of-142) from beyond the arc. As a junior, she started 13 games and averaged 3.9 points and 1.8 assists. She was also a member of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee from 2004-06. A native of Daytona Beach, Fla., Brown earned her bachelor's degree in business administration and logistics in May of 2006.

"We are excited to have someone of Natasha's playing experience join our staff," said Dunn. "She is very eager and willing to learn and those two traits will only help our program."

A four-sport athlete in her prep career, Brown averaged 18 points per game for Mainland High School and was also a member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes in 2002.
