Women's Golf Finishes Second at UCF Invitational

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Sophomore Ashley Grier (Hagerstown, Md.) shot a 4-over-par 148 (75-73) to place fourth overall, while senior Winnie Dorminey (Jacksonville, Fla.) fired a 7-over 151 (74-77) to tie for 7th as JU finished second out of 12 teams at the UCF Invitational at the Stoneybrook Country Club in Orlando. The Dolphins fired a 610 (303-307) on the par-72, 5,891-yard course, just three shots back of tournament champion Georgia State, who shot the fifth-best score in tournament history with a 607 (299-308).

Senior Karin Haggard (Gothenburg, Sweden) shot a 154 (77-77) to place 12th, while senior Ana Mateo (Madrid, Spain) fired a 165 (77-88) for the Dolphins.

Florida Southern (619) finished third, followed by Augusta State (621) and Rollins College (624) to round out the top five. Pamela Feggans of Florida Southern shot a 1-under-par 143 (72-71) to earn individual medallist honors.

JU returns to action at the Butler North/South Intercollegiate in Jacksonville March 8-9.
