Women's Golf Finishes Second at Hatter Spring Fling

DeLAND, Fla - JU junior Pamela Shelley (Alachua, Fla.) fired a two-round 162 (85-77) to finish in a tie for 8th as the Dolphins shot a 653 (324-329) to place second at the Hatter Spring Fling in DeLand, Fla. Florida Atlantic shot a 647 (332-315) to win the tourney on the par-72, 6,031-yard course at the Victoria Hills Golf Club. Bethune Cookman's Maria Dunne fired a 6-over 150 (75-75) to earn individual medallist honors.

Dolphin sophomore Ashley Grier (Hagerstown, Md.) shot a 163 (81-82) to finish 10th. Other JU participants included senior Winnie Dorminey (Jacksonvile, Fla.), who shot a 166 (81-85) to finish in a tie for 15th, senior Karin Haggard (Gothenburg, Sweden), who fired a 168 (83-85) to tie for 18th, and senior Ulrika Norden (Stockholm, Sweden), shot a 172 (79-93) to tie for 24th.

The Dolphins return to action in Miami Lakes, Fla. to compete in the UM Ryder State Lady's Collegiate on April 2-4.
