March 6, 2007
SPARTANBURG, S.C. - Camilla Loeveid's four-over par 76 led the JU women's golf team to a third place finish at the Diet Coke Wofford Invitational.
The Dolphins posted their second straight round of 319 to finish in third with a two-round total of 638. JU finished 22 shots behind tournament champion and host Wofford in the seven team event.
Loeveid's two round total of eight-over par, 152, placed her in third behind Wofford's Erin Wells, who won the title with a one-over total of 145.
"Almost everyone had a better score today, which shows the potential this team has," said JU assistant coach Pamela Shelley. "Camilla posted a low score and that set the tempo for the team today."
Jessica Green carded an 83 in the final round to tie for eighth at 15-over par, 159, for her first top 10 finish of the season. Therese Karlsson posted a six-over par 78 to finish in a tie for 11th at 160.
Alexandra Andersen posted an 82 to finish in 23rd at 167 while Heather Fudge shot an 83 to finish alone in 26th at 171.
