Women's Soccer Shuts Out Florida Atlantic, 1-0

Freshman defender Hanni Wenzell (Camino, Wash.) scored with 14 minutes left in the match to lead the Jacksonville University women's soccer team to a 1-0 Trans America Athletic Conference victory over Florida Atlantic Sunday night at the FAU Soccer Complex.
With the win, the Dolphins improve their record to 13-1-0 overall and 5-0-0 in TAAC play. The victory extends the Dolphins' school-record winning streak to 12 matches as they earned their eighth shutout of the season. The loss drops the Owls to 8-4-0 on the year, 3-2-0 in league play.
Wenzell's goal came from a corner kick by senior forward Marit Foss (Hamresanden, Norway) for her nation-leading 22nd assist of the season.
The Dolphins return to action Thursday, Oct. 12 when they host TAAC opponent Campbell at 4 p.m. at the Ashley Sports Complex.
