NASHVILLE, Tenn. - The Jacksonville University women's soccer team exploded for five goals in the second half to defeat Belmont University, 5-0, at Whitten Soccer Complex in Atlantic Sun Conference action Sunday afternoon. Freshman Courtney Hardy (Austin, Texas) scored her first two collegiate goals and senior Juli Petrauskas (Austin, Texas) added two assists to lead the Dolphins' (7-1-0, 2-0-0 A-Sun) to their seventh-straight victory.

After a scoreless tie at halftime, JU's offense kicked into high gear as junior Inge Heiremans (Tremelo, Belgium) scored in the 50th minute with the assists coming from Ranveig Aas-Hanssen (Skien, Norway) and Petrauskas to give JU the 1-0 advantage. Aas-Hanssen scored seven minutes later off a feed from senior Vanessa Illanes (Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.) to make the score 2-0. An own goal by the Bruins increased the Dolphins' lead to 3-0 and Hardy added two goals in the final 15 minutes to seal the 5-0 victory.

Sophomore Stephanie Fowler (Seffner, Fla.) made four saves in 79 minutes of action in recording her second-straight shutout.

The Dolphins return to action hosting Troy State on Friday, Sept. 27 at the Ashley Sports Complex at 4 p.m.
