JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Senior forward Ashley Williams was named Atlantic Sun Conference "Player of the Week" after earning Lady Pirate Invitational All-Tournament honors last weekend in Greenville, N.C.

Williams, who moved into second place on the JU all-time scoring list (1,097) and set the program record for career steals (116), averaged 23 points, 7.5 rebounds, three steals, two blocks and two assists while shooting .679 (19-28) from the floor.

"Ashley stepped up big for us the entire tournament," said JU head coach Jill Dunn. "She made some big shots on the offensive end and defensively, she got a lot of key bocks."

Against UMass, she tallied a game-high 28 points and 10 rebounds to notch her first double-double of the year. She shot 10-of-15 from the floor while also hitting 8-of-10 free throws to lead the squad to a 72-68 win over the Minutewomen. The win gave JU its first victory over an Atlantic-10 opponent in three tries (0-2 - Fordham).

Against Winthrop, she tallied a game-high 18 points to go with five rebounds, five steals and three blocks while shooting 9-of-13 from the floor.

The Dolphins will play their first contest in the Jacksonville Veterans Memorial Arena as JU hosts Florida on Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. The contest can be seen live on www.judolphins.com as part of ASun.TV.
