JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - The JU women's soccer team rolled to a 4-0 win over Florida International in their season opener Friday evening at the Ashley Sports Complex. Sophomore Ranveig Aas-Hanssen (Skien, Norway) led the Dolphins with two goals and an assist, while freshman Jenny Borschel (St. Petersburg, Fla.) and senior Inge Heiremans (Tremelo, Belgium) each added a goal and an assist. Sarah Scalese (Brewster, Mass.) and Stephanie Lounsberry (St. Petersburg, Fla.) combined for the shutout in goal for the Dolphins. This is the first of eight matches this season against teams from the state of Florida as JU improves to 3-0 all-time against the Golden Panthers.

Aas-Hanssen put JU on the board in the 13th minute when she converted on a header from Borschel that snuck by the goalkeeper to give the Dolphins a 1-0 lead at the half.

JU was able to take a 2-0 lead as Heiremans led Aas-Hanssen with a pass inside the box. Aas-Hanssen then put the ball away from two yards out for her second goal of the night. Less than two minutes later, Heiremans scored on a header off a corner kick by Erin Bitterli (St. Petersburg, Fla.) to make it 3-0. Borschel added the final tally in the 61st minute when she took a ball from Aas-Hanssen and put it away from five yards out.
