BOCA RATON, Fla. - The Jacksonville University women's soccer team kept the game close through 71 minutes, but the Owls of Florida Atlantic broke it open in the last 19 to grab a 4-0 win over the Dolphins Friday night at FAU Field in Boca Raton. JU falls to 4-7-2, 3-2-1 in the Atlantic Sun, while Florida Atlantic stands at 8-3-3, 5-2-1 in conference play.

The Owls got on the scoreboard quickly, as Katri Nokso-Koivisto scored off Janine Aylward's cross to put Florida Atlantic up, 1-0. The Dolphin defense helped keep the score close until the 72nd minute, when Danielle DiLeo took advantage of a drawn-out sophomore goalkeeper Michelle Kmiotek (Tampa, Fla.) and scored her third goal of the season.

In the 81st minute, the Owls struck again when Nokso-Koivisto beat Kmiotek and scored her second goal of the night. Florida Atlantic added another in the 89th minute, as Monique Cabrera scored her first goal of the season.

All of the Dolphins' eight shots came on goal in the second half. Florida Atlantic had 15 shots in the contest. The teams took two corner kicks a piece.

JU's next match is in Orlando against UCF at 6 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 17.
